I just finished reading Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks. In it he writes, “A life, after all, is simply a series of little lives, each of them lived one day at a time, and every single one of those days has choices and consequences. Piece by piece, those decisions help to form the people we become.” I love this.

For the last year and a half, writing my blog has been one of my little lives, and that process has taught me a lot. It has allowed me to share my thoughts and dreams, a bit of my travels, and a whole lot of nonsense. It has shown me that acquaintances can be supportive and encouraging and, sadly, that people who I’ve considered to be friends can be discouraging and dismissive. Those of you who have taken the time to read my posts and to provide feedback have made the experience very rewarding. I appreciate you more than words can convey.

I really don’t know what I had hoped to accomplish by writing a blog and I’m sure that was evident by my mishmash of topics. I guess I had hoped to encourage others to try new experiences and to realize that the world is a wonderfully huge space to explore even if it’s only one nook and cranny at a time.

As for me, I am ready to move on to my next little life. Blogging is no longer fun. I had wanted to reorganize my website but my computer is too old to allow updates. My wifi service is abysmal and when dealing with both at the same time, I feel a huge desire to take a sledgehammer to all things electronic. This does not help my blood pressure.

I had promised myself that if blogging started to feel like a job, I’d quit. And so, this will be my last post. My website will remain active through September 2023 but I may continue random posts on Facebook. I’m not sure at this point what my next little life will involve but you can bet it’ll be just a few steps beyond normal.
